My book on Pavement Marking;How I Stripe a Parking Lot...28 Years...by Myself
, is also listed her, on eBay. Third Edition.
I also manufacture stencils.
They're the best material...all Pavement Marking companies buy. They're not stiff or corrugated. ( Try not to buy any other. )
They're easily readable...not squished. We also have the biggest "Edge Distances".
And
seriously
...they're re-usable...and easy to clean.
Thanks in advance.
Here’s what you’re buying;
A 12' Compass Rose Stencil KIT.
( Please note; the 2nd picture is intended to show what the KIT can produce. It won't be included though, in the purchase. I hope that's ok. )
The larger "arrow" measures 6' tall.
The smaller arrow measures 37.5" tall.
The best way to lay this out, so you do not have gaps is to "snap a chalk line".
Lay the large arrow on that chalk line with both "end points" on the line, pointing North. Spray using your color of choice. Let it dry. ( In Summer, drying times should be minutes. )
Then, turn that large arrow 180 degrees, pointing South. Place it on the chalk line, butted up with the North arrow, with the end points on the line.
Spray using your color of choice. Let it dry.
Now, turn the large arrow 90 degrees, pointing West, tuck it in where it belongs and spray with the color of your choice. Let it dry.
( Repeat for the East. ) Now all the large arrows are painted. Let it dry.
Then...take the smaller arrow, used for the NW, NE, SW and SE direction, and lay it down, tuck it in where it belongs. Spray.
Hint...if you
"eyeball" this, without a chalk line, and if your larger, North arrow and South arrows are not lined up and look anything like it's 7 o' clock...!...you'll have a gap somewhere.
Last...the N, E, S and W letters measure 17" tall. The NW, etc., measure 8" tall.
I hope that all makes sense.
We only use the best Low Densit
y Polyethylene Plastic Compounds.
And...it's all 60 MIL thick
...= 1/16" thick.
Yes, they're re-usable. Either wipe them down wet...or...let them dry. If they're dry, simply bend the Polyethylene Plastic and the dried over spray peels off.
ALL of my own, personal stencils, which I use everyday...and are hanging on my shop wall...are .125" thick...= 1/8th inch.
BUT...for occasional use...this 1/16" thickness will serve you well.
I'm Dan Zurcher and I own American Striping. I hope I helped.
