REATE A TREASURED HEIRLOOM!  I paint only in oils on canvas.  I ask each of you to describe the horse’s personality and your relationship to him. I have owned horses all my life and I understand your feelings toward this loyal creature. I have owned many different breeds and many colors.  I have shipped my art all over the world from right here in Virginia.  I have painted for Congressmen, for owners of grand estates and for the little girl who boards her horse close by.  It is my feeling that you can capture the emotion and love of your closest friend only by revealing who she really is.
This particular painting was painted for a friend in Richmond.  Notice that the painting has a story to tell.  First off, the girls are sisters.  Their ponies seem to know each other.  Notice the check rein on the smaller pony.  He probably likes to eat grass even when he's supposed to be "working".  Can you see the cute little side glance the little girl on the left is giving us? She probably knows her portrait is in the works.  The showgrounds are prominent in the story.  Are they waiting for their next class?  The little girl on the right is fussing with her reins or something to make sure she gets it right before going into the arena.  What else can you deduct from this portrait?
My next door neighbor and good friend is a retired publisher and has been encouraging me to publish a book of my artwork and my life.  It has taken her a year to persuade me to accomplish it…..and so I have begun.
I can paint on many different sizes of canvas.  I can add important background or add bridles or halters, etc. if you think they are important.  Prices vary according to size and complexity.

A simple background, by the way, can be exciting. Especially, if we do one like the portrait displayed here of the white horse, Aurora. If you have more than one horse you desire portrayed, let me know so I can give discounts. There is a 15% discount for 2nd and third portraits.  One friend from Maine ordered 5 head portraits from me, one for each of her horses. There also may be a waiting period so that the paintings can dry sufficiently to ship.
