    Description

    Up for auction is a vintage pair of 1917 Mulberry Van Briggle Peacock Bookends. They measure approximately 5 1/2” tall by 6” across. They have a beautiful mulberry glaze that lets the clay show through on the peacock’s feathers. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on the pieces, but there are a couple indentations made during the making of the pieces and are glazed over. There is still some of the original felt on the bottom of the peacocks. The pieces are marked with the Van Briggle logo and the year which I believe is 1917, but could be 1911.
