Set of 2 Van Briggle Vases, Original Ming Blue / Turquoise Hand Thrown, Signed, Fred Wills, Vintage, 4-1/4 inches Tall, 8-3/4 inches Tall
This is a beautiful Set of 2 Vintage Van Briggle Ming Blue Vases. One vase marked as "Van Briggle Original" and hand thrown by potter Fred Wills. Both vases are signed on the bottom. The small vase is marked with “FW” to the right of the AA logo, “84” to the left, and below is “Van Briggle Original Colo. Spgs”. The tall vase is marked "Van Briggle Colo Spgs". The small vase measures approximately 4-1/4 inches tall, and 3 inches wide. The tall vase measures approximately 8-3/4 inches tall and 2-1/4 inch bottom diameter. The tall vase has a large chip on the top, the small vase is in excellent vintage condition with no signs of cracks, chips, or repairs. (See photos)
Fred Wills was a potter at the Van Briggle company from 1947 to 1988 and was the premier potter at the company after Clem Helms death in 1965. Mr. Wills was supervisor at the pottery for approximately 20 years.
