    Description

Here is a complete set of all eight (8) Amber Road oxidized silver coins
    PLUS
the gold plated silver "Europe" issue.
Coins were minted by the prestigious Mint of Poland and two (2) coins were issued per year over a 4 year period from 2008 thru 2011.
Robert Kotowicz was the design artist for this series. His artwork really captures the period of this ancient historic Trade Route thru Europe.
By oxidizing the silver and using a softer detail, the mint did a superb job in making these coins really look ancient.
All coins come in capsules with certificates, there was no other single coin packaging offered when originally released.
Another great feature in this series is that on all the coin's reverse side is an image of an
    ancient Roman coin
, one that would have been in circulation during the time this Amber Road thru Europe was in full operation.
Photos #10 & #11 show the gold plated silver coin. It has a mirrored finish and ties in very nicely showing all the cities and towns along the European Amber Road
    .
Another interesting detail about this collection is that the certificates on the first 5 issues,
    (thru the Stare Hradisko release)
only had one side printed in English and did not include the name of the design artist, Robert Kotowicz. However the last 4 issued certificates list the artist and are printed on both sides, one side in English and the other side in the Polish language, (photo # 6) showing the Polish side.
Photo # 9 shows the obverse side which is similar on all the coins with the exception of the engraved date
If you enjoy ancient European history and ancient Roman commerce, this collection fits nicely.
Complete set in mint fresh condition, actual photos, so buy with confidence !
All photos were taken with direct overhead flash, the amber stones are a bit less brilliant in normal light.
