  • Condition: Vintage Chinese bird cage, house made of bamboo and fashioned with wire inserts and a functioning wire spring loaded door. It has a ring to be hung up or it can be used free standing. It has a lovely dome shaped top with conical spire where the ring is attached for hanging. The body of the cage is formed with curved bamboo rods and tapers in to an hour glass shape through three round bamboo rings. The bamboo has been pierced and wire walls are inserted through the three rings. A ring of metal and intermingled metal wire is in two areas to add additional support to the wire walls. The door measures 3 inches wide and 2 ½ inches tall. A wooden perch hangs in the center of the cage or house. There is a chip on one end of the perch. The base measures 10 ¾ inches in diameter and the cage/house measures 18 inches tall. It weighs 3 pounds before packaging. Truly a work of art. Thanks for looking.
