    Description

Pair Vintage Anna Van Briggle Pottery Cobalt Blue Horn of Plenty Candle Holders
    1955-1968
The Van Briggle Art Pottery was the oldest continuously operating art pottery in the United States, having been established in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1901 by Artus and Anne Van Briggle. Artus had a significant impact on the Art Nouveau movement in the United States, and his pottery is foundational to American Art Pottery. The Van Briggle Pottery Studio closed in spring 2012.
Ann Van Briggle died in 1929. The "Anna" line was produced from 1954 until 1968, so obviously Ann Van Briggle did not sign those pieces. The designation of "Anna" for this line happened more as an afterthought than anything. It was just a way of keeping a problematic line of clay and glaze that they bought from Dryden Pottery separate from the normal Van Briggle clays and glazes.
This Anna Van Briggle vase has a beautiful deep blue glaze with a mottled, light blue rim. Very cute bud vase. Great decorator piece.
Exceptional piece for any collection. Perfect from all angles. Exceptional vase in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze, Free from crazing. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process.
Please review the high resolution pictures because they are part of the description. Please review each picture carefully and contact with any questions.
