This listing is for a pair of Van Briggle Double Tulip Candle Holders done in Ming Blue Satin Glaze.
Each candle holder measures approximately 6.5 inches long and 4.5 inches tall.
This item is done in Van Briggle's celebrated matte satin glaze which was inspired by the founder's tour through Asia during the late 1800's. His works were created in an array of shapes and colors which spoke to the Arts and Crafts style so prevalent during the first years of manufacturing and acted as a guiding principle throughout the company's existence.
The company was founded by Artus Van Briggle in the Spring of 1901 in Colorado Springs. Van Briggle, who was an artist for the Rookwood company until the late 1800's, moved there for health reasons. His passion for art, and drive to create something distinctly American, is what drove this company's success. It was the longest continuously operated art company in American history, having closed their doors in Spring of 2012.
