    Description

    Rare Stangl Pottery Americana, 2 Quart Beverage Pitcher With Ice Lip and Rattan Wrapped Handle, Pattern Number 2000
    Designed and manufactured by Stangl Pottery located in Trenton, New Jersey, the Americana pattern 2 quart beverage pitcher was produced between 1935 to 1943. The pitcher has an ice lip at the pouring spout and a glossy Colonial Blue glaze.  The handle of the beverage pitcher is wrapped in rattan.  According to the Stangl Dinnerware book by Robert Runge, Jr., published in 2000, sometimes the Americana pitchers that were part of a beverage set had the handle of the pitcher wrapped with rattan.  I could not locate any other 2-quart Americana Pattern Number 2000 pitchers that have sold in the past with the rattan wrapped handle making this a rare beverage pitcher.
    The base of the pitcher has impressed "STANGL" and " 2000" markings. The pitcher measures approximtely 6.25 inches height and the opening rim diameter at the top of the pitcher is approximately 4 and 7/8 inches.  The total width from the tip of the pouring spout to the outer edge of the rattan wrapped handle is approximately 9 and 5/8 inches  Weight of the pitcher is approximately 2.3 pounds.
    Please see all 12 photographs as they are part of the description. The bright white areas and the dark shadows in the photos are from light reflections off of the glossy glaze when the photographs were taken. The pitcher is in very good condition. There are no chips, breaks, repairs, or crazing. The blue color is bright and vibrant.  Rarely does this rattan wrapped handle 2-quart Americana pitcher come up for sale.
