    Description

    Very early experimental antique pottery plate by VAN BRIGGLE with a grapes and leaves motif.  Front of plate is in a muted matte green, while the back is in a brighter turquoise color.
    Marked on back with Van Briggle symbol with 11 and 16 on either side and 14 underneath - signed Van Briggle "colo. spgs."
    Some wear from age - see notes above - small separation line in the pottery next to the edge of one leaf and other tiny line on the clay - some discoloration and normal wear to the paint with flecks of white showing
