Van Briggle Vase Lorelei Blue Pottery 11 1/2 in. Colorado Springs AA mark

Description

This auction is for a Beautiful Van Briggle Vase named Lorelei.  Lorelei is a German Folk legend of a beautiful maiden who threw herself into the Rhine River in despair over a faithless lover and was transformed into a siren who lured fishermen to destruction. The Glaze is Turquoise.  The vase measures approximately 11-1/4" tall, 3" diameter at base, 4-1/2" diameter at widest.
The bottom is marked with the incised Van Briggle conjoined  A's for Ann and Artus Van Briggle.  And the incised "Van Briggle - Colo. Spgs."
Finisher mark "D.R."

- Known to have finished pieces in the late 1980's through 2003, including major modification of cast pieces by hand carving.
Glazer mark incised "II" Martha Oliver - Glazer from 1970 through 2004
I found no cracks chips or repairs.  There are a few small places the glaze did not cover.  This is an "As-Is" auction so please see all photos and feel free to ask questions.
