Description
This badge was created for members of the Royal Mine Clearance Service that was initiated just after WWI by Britain for the purpose of clearing the shipping lanes of floating mines set during the war. The badge consists of a floating mine embossed into a white metal within a roundel surrounded by a laurel wreath surmounted by the King's crown above the motto MINE / CLEARANCE SERVICE written upon a scroll. The badge is 3 1/4" tall and is in excellent original condition.
